Weekly Weather Update 30.6.2025 - High Energy Period develops
A High Energy atmospheric window is forming from 3 to 10 July, triggered by an Earth-facing Coronal Hole, with impacts typically felt 3–5 days post-alignment. This period is also expected to coincide with an incoming Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) from ~1 July, likely to deliver an initial shock to Earth’s magnetic field. The combined effects of solar and terrestrial interactions will significantly elevate storm risks across multiple regions.

Australian Weather Update 26.6.2025
Australia’s recent High Energy Period has come to a close, delivering a powerful burst of wind, rain, frost, and snow across the nation — particularly across southern and eastern states.
A strong cold front has now moved into the Tasman Sea, with high pressure building in its wake. This transition is setting the stage for severe frost across the southeast and a brief pause in rainfall ahead of the next major cycle expected from around 3 July.

Australia's December Climate and Weather Summary
December marks the beginning of summer in Australia and a pivotal point in the nation’s annual climate cycle. It is a month of atmospheric transition, as southern synoptic patterns give way to the intensifying influence of tropical systems in the north. This combination of subtropical heat, humid tropical air masses, and retreating mid-latitude systems creates significant variability in rainfall, temperature, and severe weather outcomes across the continent.

October 2025 Weather Forecast: Final Cold Surge, Major Storm Cycle, and Fire Risk Ahead
By the 15th to 17th, a cut-off upper low is forecast to form over the eastern states, enhancing the storm threat further. This setup may lead to severe and widespread storms, with the potential for heavy rain, damaging winds, and giant hail from the interior to the east coast (note hail risk is mostly focused across the eastern states from SE SA, across Vic, eastern NSW and eastern Qld.

East Coast Lows Give Way to National June Break Pattern
A significant Earth-facing coronal hole is now in position on the Sun — notably the same long-lived feature that impacted Earth during March and again in late April. Once again, it has rotated into view, suggesting strong consistency with the Sun’s ~27-day synodic rotation period, as observed from Earth.

Late-May Weather Shift: East Coast Low, Gippsland Rain, and WA's First Northwest Cloudband Incoming
By Monday, this trough is expected to consolidate over the Hunter district, bringing:
Heavy rainfall falls of 100-200mm likely
Damaging winds gusting to 90kmh
Flash flooding potential rainfall (Convergence zones - coastal regions of the Hunter)
A persistent zone of coastal vorticity is likely to remain anchored between the Mid North Coast and the Illawarra, lingering from Monday through Wednesday before gradually shifting south.

Weekly Weather Outlook – Dry Inland, Coastal Energy Builds Ahead of Mid-May Shift
A dry week continues across most of the nation, with the exception of the eastern coastal fringe where persistent trade showers remain active. Over the past week, rainfall totals have varied significantly — from just 1mm along the southern coast to more than 100mm across parts of the northeast NSW coast, tropical northeast Queensland, and the Arnhem coast of the Northern Territory.
